Title: Developing professional engineers through active and authentic learning
As a pioneer in the applied learning pathway in university education in Singapore, SIT’s pedagogy embraces experiential and authentic learning – key ingredients to nurture active, lifelong learners who are able to hit the ground running when they graduate. Our holistic education model not only ensures that we develop graduates with a mastery of deep disciplinary knowledge, but with relevant transferable and inter-disciplinary skills and know-how needed to function effectively and with agility in a fast-changing industry landscape. We have developed new ways to deliver our education programmes that integrate work and study in a symbiotic continuum. I will present details of our pedagogy, using as examples some of our engineering programmes.
