Title: Exploration and Practice of New Engineering Education at SUSTech

The School of System Design and Intelligent Manufacturing of the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) adopts the new engineering education mode, breaks through the traditional large classroom teaching mode, uses the project-led group learning mode in the student-centered active learning environment, and creates an active learning environment through the guided teaching mode of the interconnection of projects and knowledge points, combining with the process-based comprehensive ability evaluation system. Students in the process of completing the challenge of learning guidance projects, recognize their professional interests, enhance their enthusiasm for learning, acquire comprehensive abilities such as project management, team cooperation, leadership, and experience the charm of interdisciplinary knowledge, and strive to make students improve their comprehensive quality and ability simultaneously in the process of acquiring knowledge. The school helps students customize personalized professional training programs according to their professional interests, and guides students to focus on the accumulation and integration of multidisciplinary knowledge, aiming at cultivating comprehensive leading talents with broad basic knowledge, distinctive professional characteristics, critical thinking, design thinking, system thinking, team spirit, scientific ethics and cross-cultural communication ability.
